generation gap

If I survive the next 10 years of parenting it will be a miracle.

"These pants are uncomfortable under my snowpants!" (stomp, stomp)

Her goal was to be allowed to wear the definitely-not-school-appropriate sweatpants with the too-small-shirt that shows her belly. Um... no. She changed her pants and put a sweatshirt on, but made sure we all knew just how unimpressed she was.

This could get ugly.

Why ... it just gets better - said in my best "Blanche Dubois" accent, which given my origins is pretty damned good ;).

Believe me, though, it goes too fast, and before you know it, you're babysitting your granddaughter, who is living in your house, and you get to start all over again ;).

I think I was pretty huffy and snitty from 10-25 with my mom...possibly even longer....

Sorry if this is not encouraging. Girls are tough!

Teachers like me, appreciate it when parents like you, send your children to school with clothes that cover their tummies and such. Unfortunately parents like you, are sometimes in the minority.

Don't worry, we loose the "attitude." You Will survive it, If you could and can survive me, THE Drama Queen, you can survive anything

You know, I remember feeling just like Girly at moments with our own mother... and yet I survived and manage to now keep my inappropriate clothes for appropriate occassions (like kickball). She will thank you for it one day (especially when all her friends start posting photos that are 20-25 years old on facebook and she doesn't look like a total freak).
